Great article. Fall turf care is extremely important to the quality of your lawn going into the spring of next year. Working in the St. Louis lawn service industry we come across a great deal of poor soil that has been neglected for many years. Preparing your soil in the fall correctly will help the turf and soil perform better next season. Thank You again for a good article.

I'm having trouble with my lawn - my pitching wedge keeps digging huge troughs in it all summer long and then it just starts to grow back and gets covered in 3 feet of snow. It's a bugger because my ride around mower keeps getting stuck in the snowpiles and can't really get the grass very uniform. Any suggestions?

Great post Allyn. I think a lot of people get to the end of the lawncare season and stop doing the extra little things to make their lawn great.

A lot of people think about the fact that they need to prepare their lawncare equipment for a winter of no use, but most don't think about preparing their lawn prior to the coming winter.

Kudos!
